Here are just a few rustic images from my 2012 back road adventures.
Sometimes I do travel the main roads to get to where I need to go... but even then, If I get a 'feeling' to turn off and go down a road less traveled, I follow that natural instinct to turn -and majority of the time, I come across something that makes my soul leap, and my heart skip a beat... to some these images may look like junk, garbage, or something that should be torn down, but to me it is so much more than that. It is history, a story, and a feeling of what used to be.
Taking the back roads for me, is more than just the thrill of driving, more than just pushing my foot on the pedal and cruising, it is an awakening of my inner self, allowing myself to think more and feel more, it is connecting myself with those who have passed on before us, and allowing the memories of their homes, vehicles and businesses to live on.
Taking the back roads-especially ones I have never traveled down before, is my way of going with the wind, and allowing my heart and self to be open to whatever comes next, this my friends is not only a beautiful way to travel and explore, but a beautiful way to live your life. Always be open to whatever comes your way.
