"Sometimes you choose the road, and other times, the road chooses you. When the road chooses you, you will not have to question it - you will just know that you are going in the right direction, because you will feel it within your heart and in your soul. "~Kelly Whitman/Endless Acres Photography
I have been blessed (thank you God!) with a crazy, weird, strange ability to feel my way down the back-roads of any state, anywhere I go. What do I mean by this?! I like to let go , I like to be free and being free to me, means also letting go of control of things like maps and directions and following my intuition. Every road I have had a 'feeling' to go down, has resulted in something worth photographing.
I don't know why this is, but I believe in my heart of hearts, that it is truly from God. On January 1st of this year, I decided it was time to do some changes in my business, you may have noticed them- or maybe you didn't. If you didn't that is most likely because most of the changes were internal- in my heart and something only I can see and feel. January 1st was the day I gave my business over to God, fully. I prayed that he would guide me, lead my hands to do his work, and that he would show me what to do with HIS business and guide me where to go, what to do, and to most of all bless my work and my hands.
With that being said, I'll connect this information over to my back-road Kansas adventure, after all , that is why you're here right?!
On my way home from Norman, Oklahoma, I decided to take a few back roads once I got into Kansas. I picked a few that looked fun, and most importantly headed North. As I went along, I knew I was making the right road choices, and I felt led down one stretch of road at the last second. Believing in my intuition, I I turned down the road and in under less than a mile of driving down the bumpy poorly paved path, I came across something that almost took my breath away.
