"This is me Lord, stepping out of my comfort zone, letting go of me, and holding on to you. The way back to the Lord is straight and narrow, he doesn't skirt around the rough stretches, or detour past the steepest climbs."
There are some days, when I wake up, and I can just immediately feel Gods presence. I feel him near me often, but occasionally I have to search for him, in word, worship, or simply in quiet time. Today he woke me early for a Sunday. At 6:00 a.m. I arose out of bed, and went straight to the window that faces the back field. A beautiful, yet eerie fog had settled in near the tree line.
As usual, I made a cup of coffee, and sat , sipping, thinking, and looking out the window at the beauty that God had brought onto our land this morning. I felt a nudge from God, to head outside and take photos. I had no plan, I just ran upstairs, changed out of my pajamas, grabbed my camera, asked my 10 year old son to get on warm clothes, and to come outside to take photos with me. He obeyed, as I had obeyed the whispers from God to embrace this foggy December morning.
We marched outside , still no plan in mind, and I ventured into the chicken coop workshop, saw my Grandfathers old ladder, grabbed on to it, and headed out to the field.
We enjoyed connecting in Gods beauty together as we threw together an improv photo shoot. After the photo shoot, we said a prayer to God, thanking him for leading us outside to play in the fog this morning. I found myself spinning in a circle , looking in every direction in awe of the fog, ..in awe of God and the way he leads us to exactly where we need to be at the right time. His timing is always beautiful and perfect.
There are days when we can't see the road ahead, the fog may settle into our lives, and we don't know what is coming, we don't know what is next. There are days when we feel lost because we can only see one step in front of us. Many of us have experienced many days like this, full of unknowns, and we will continue to experience them for as long we live here on this earth. The only way to make it through the fog- is with faith and trust in our amazing God. He never leaves us, he is continually by our side- even in the times we can not see, sense or feel his presence- he is a loving God who will guide is through troubled waters, foggy fields, and through every single step we take forward in this life.
When is the last time you were in a foggy time in your life? How did God help you through? Feel free to share your experience below in the comments, I would love to hear your story !

in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." - Proverbs 3:5-6
